Where can I get African or multiracial hair products in London?

I'm a U.S. student currently living in London. I'm half african-american and have very curly/kinky hair. A month ago the products I was using from the states ran out and I've been trying to use what's at the stores here. I've been to Boots and Superdrug but I can't find any products for African hair. I've used curl cream, conditioners, leave in moisturizers, mouse...but my hair is just getting dryer and dryer. There's not enough moisture in anything. If there are any products for my type of hair at these stores, I couldn't find them. Even overloading my hair with more product just makes it sticky, stiff, and STILL dry...

I don't straighten my hair anymore, I want to wear it natural. Does anyone know anywhere I can purchase hair products for multiracial or African hair in the UK? Either online or somewhere in London?

I'm also not ordering anything from the US because everything I've ever had shipped over here has been super expensive and a nightmare to deal with.

Take a bus ride through South London Peckam, Brixton, Streatham areas, and you will see lots of hair dressers/shops for African hair. Lots of interesting shops there too.

DO NOT GO to BOOTS and the big beauty stores they will not have JACK and if they do it is very limited what you need to do is find a black hair shop there are so many where i live in east London, just go walking around somewhere which has black people and you will find it. In leyton, barkers arms there are four and all so close next to each other and also in walthamstow market at the top of the market by the bus station.

There are tons of black hair shops and they are very easy to recognise (they will have pictures of black hair products and posters). If you can't ind any just go walking around and and ask any black person where you can find a 'black hair shop' and it shouldn't be a problem, I'm actually a little shocked you haven't seen one i wonder where you have been looking.

( just remember if you see a black community there will have a black hair) good luck : )

Boots?! Good Lord No.

Go to Green Street market (take District Line/green line) to Upton Park, and they have loads of hair care shops. So many you'll be spoilt for choice. Or you could try Walthamstow Market or Brixton (both on the Victoria Line) Stratford Market (Central line), Rigley Road (Dalston), the list goes on - London is the most multi cultural city in the world - if you can't find it here you won't find it anywhere!.

I'm sure if you have some friends of colour they should be able to point you in the right direction, but there are places all over London that you can go to for black hair care products. Try any of the above

I live near Tooting and Streatham, south west London. There are loads of shops which specialise in the products you are looking for. At pretty reasonable prices too! If you are living in central London, get the Northern Line tube to Tooting Broadway and youll find loads of shops within minutes!

Hope that helps!! xx
