How do I get cat hair off my clothes when I wash them?

I have 2 long haired cats and they get hair everywhere, including on all of my clothes. But even when i wash my clothes, the hair doesn't come off. Is there a trick to get the hair to come off in the washer or dryer??

I have two kitties, one black and one white, so I'm doomed, everything I wear shows hair, lol.

First, embrace the fact that you are going to have some hair on your clothes, and just say, "love me, love my cats"

On the clothes that show a lot of hair, use a sticky lint brush to remove the hair before washing (before you take it off, brush the item quickly, takes a few seconds)

Make sure you keep your dirty clothes in a place where the kitties don't go to keep as much hair off as possible.

Increase the amount of times you vacuum and sweep, and don't forget to vacuum your furniture.

Keep kitties clean, by grooming them regularly. I brush mine regularly and it really helps.

When you put something on, check it quickly for cat hair and give it a quick once over with the lint brush. I keep one in my closet on a shelf, and another by the back door.

These things will cut it down a lot, but not entirely.

It should be coming off in the washer and then definitely the dryer. I would recommend in investing in a lint brush. Should take care of the problem. Also, be sure to brush your cats often to avoid excess shedding.

Adding to Terri--

I also run my bedspread and any other quilt/blanket they use in the dryer on "air" a time or two BEFORE I wash it-- and any other time I think it's loaded with hair.

I brush both my cats daily-- and I guess it helps.....

good luck

If you had to choose which dryer would you pick from....a portable hair bonnet(the one wear it looks like you are wearing a bag over your head) or a stand-up hair dryer that you can manuever around the house easily with wheels...and if anyone can give me a recommendation that would help more with my decision.

Thanks in advance!

Either one is transportable through out the house. It sounds as if you use them to 'set" your hair. If this is the case ask yourself how often might I take it out of the house? If you are going places that you need to style your hair at then, portable in the case is your best bet it gives you the ability to use it in San Fran. or Chicago or anywhere you go. Plus at home it slides into a cupboard or in the back of a closet. If you are only using it at home and space is not an issue I like the roll-about portable ones, that is what I have in my home for my wife to use when she feels like doing up a cool do. So there you go hope this advise works to help you make the right decision for your needs.

don't do it yourself , going blonde in any case is horrble for your hair. go to a salon and get maybe in all over blonde color with clonde highlights but not bleach. i dont think its a good idea coloring hair extensions , but if u do , use a good hair mask once a week. and stay away from heat products.

that is a totally bad idea

it damages your extentionsif you dye them yourself

yo need to get another set of new ones

to get your moneys worth

Dye them in the contrast of your hair color. If it's blonde, dye the extensions black or light brown.

If it's brown, dye them red(copper) or blonde.

If your hair is black, dye them red or white.

But keep in mind extensions damage your hair a lot. Even more if u dye them.

To be honest if you have naturally dry hair, don't do it.

Hair extensions are dry as it is and need to be mantained properly with weekly deep conditioning treatments instead of monthly, because your hair isn't growing out of your scalp and therefore doesn't have the nutrients that real hair gets normally.

Dying your hair will only make extensions even dryer, making them really hard to maintain. I suggest when you have them taken out for the new ones, get another colour there.

Be sure to always use heat protection too because if you don't that is the worst culprit for dry hair, sporting long term effects.
