How do I restore my hair?

I've always had naturally straight hair. When I got an unfortunately awful haircut, my mother gave me permission to start using products to fix it. At 12, I started blow-drying, and by 13 and 14 I've been using massive gels and mousse and blow-drying, and now my hair is a bit dryer and has waves and kinks? How do I restore it back to its normal straight oily hair.

P.S.

for some reason, my hair is straighter in the winter, so maybe humidity might of hurt my hair too.
