Hair Question for my Sistas?

So, since I've been working out I've been washing %26amp; blow drying my hair every single day(which I know isn't good for our hair) and I see it's taking a toll on my hair.

I use hot oil treatments, and always condition it(Pantene pro-v for women of color)

Before I blow dry I apply a conditioning/heat protective spray %26amp; hair oil. But I'm getting a lot of split ends %26amp; my hair seems to be dryer. I also oil my scalp afterwards.

Can you hook me up with some suggestions?

Not blow-drying hair is NOT an option or cutting back on workouts.

You are doing the right thing by using all your conditioners. You can never over-condition your hair. I like Neutrogena triple-moisturizing shampoos and condidtioners. I also use Carol's daughter products like hair milk and lisa's elixer (I think that's what it's called). I'm in the same boat as you. I've been swimming more often to get more exercise and have been washing my hair everyday. I wash my hair at night then comb and smooth it back (with an old toothbrush around my edges) and secure it with a doo-rag (sistas and brothas know what I'm reffering to). Wear it inside out so the seam that's down the middle won't leave a crease running down the center of your scalp. In the morning your hair will be mostly dry (also straight) and you will only need to blow dry it for 2 minutes tops to get it completely dry. If I'm pressed for time and don't want to use a curling iron afterward, I brush my hair back and put on an elastic headband. My hair is short like your avatar. My avatar is wearing a e-wig right now. :)

Hope this helps :)

PS If you use relaxers on your hair, you should have a haristylist do it. You should re-touch every 4-6 weeks

Hair Question for my Sistas?

That is classic, the first thing is split ends, due to drying your hair, and I have had a solution, Hope you like it. I started working out every other day two months ago, I had a weave, and my hair was braided under it, but my hair would begin to smell from the sweat, so I had it in a ponytail, and that worked, because I could take my own hair down 2x a week, and wash an condition it without blow drying it every single day. Now, I had micro braids, and I bought some stuff call BLUE ICE for my scalp and it's working to keep my hair smelling good and keeping my hair clean even though I sweat a lot. It'll get better in the winter.

After washing it and conditioning it. Put some leave in conditioner.Paul Mitcheal is the best. And when styling it use some mousse with leave-in-conditioner in it to make it look smooth and shiny.

You should get a weave. That way you can still get your work out on and do the washing everyday. You would not be damaging your hair. If you get a curly weave then you won't have to much after your work outs.

I heard this stuff was amazing for split ends.

Good luck with figuring this one out, I have been trying for years.

Get braids!

Pull all your hair up away from your skin when you workout and wash your hair once a week.

Since your not will to give up either then i think your hair just might keep getting worst unless you go to the hair dresser constantly. You could try leave in conditioners. I use CPR Triple Action Leave in Conditioner by Motions and it works like a charm, not to mention it smells REALLY good. It's sometimes hard to find but you should be able to get it at Sally's Beauty Supply.
