Once a week or so, leave a good amount of Queen Helene's Cholesterol hair conditioner (you should be able to find it at WalMart) on clean, damp hair for about an hour. Rinse, and don't wash again for about a day or so. You should see significant improvement in your hair's texture. Also, try to wash only every other day so your natural oils have a chance to help condition your hair.

Go to a beauty supply store and get a leave in conditioner. You apply it to towel dried hair and then add whatever other products you usually use and then style as usual. Use it everyday and don't apply it on your roots or your hair will be flat all day. You should see a difference in a few days.

Use Pantene Pro-V for dry damaged hair. I had the same problem. I dyed my hair and it was so dry an brittle. Also use Parnevu leave in conditioner. You can get that Sally's Beauty Supply for no more than $5.00. When you use Pantene leave the conditioner in your hair for at least 30 minutes before rinsing it out.

hi sounds like your sebacous glands is not working you need to use a moistirizer on your hair to help with dryness do it quickly because it can get worse

I dye my hair all the time and what works for me is. I only wash it every 2-3 days and I use a boar hair bristle brush. Use synthetic if you don't like using animal products. I also use a shampoo and condition for color treated hair that doesn't have alcohol in the first three ingredients. The conditioner is harder to find this way but I have found that thermasilk works well for the cheaper products. The real saver of my hair no matter what I do is this stuff made by garnier fructis , deep fortifying conditioner sleek and shine 3 minute masque. It is for frizzy, dry, and unmanagable hair. Use it once a week and you will be good to go.

Home Remedy:

take an egg yolk and lather into wet hair. Leave in for a few minutes and it helps condition and adds protein, which helps against breakage and hair loss.

Professional Remedy:

You need to change your shampoo and conditioner. You need to find the product that is right for your hair texture and your dryness.

You need to make sure you are not washing your hair that often.Believe it or not, if you can go weekly, you are giving your hair a treat. There is one exception however... very fine hair.

Unless your hair is very fine and gets oily very quickly, try not to wash your hair too often. The natural oil working its way down the strands is actually healthy.

Also you may want to try a "Serum" to help protect your hair against heat. Heat does damage your hair.

Hope this helps you out!!

When you get your new growth touched up tell your stylist not to overlap the color onto your already lightened hair this will make hair dry and damaged and eventually it will break. The new growth is the only part that needs to be lightened any way. Try to stick with the same color each time. Watch what your stylist does to your hair. Does she paint the color all the way down to the end of the foil? If so she is needlessly damaging your hair.

Does she face you towards the mirror. if not she may not want you to see what she is doing. Ask her not to overlap the color. if she refuses get a more experienced stylist.

Mizani hair products are excellent and their conditioners are very effective.

Dry hair!!?

What kind of shampoo/conditioner are you using? Is it meant for dry or color treated hair?

Head and Shoulders is harsh on hair, that stuff will just make your hair even dryer than it already is. I'd recommend Finesse or Avalon Organics.
