Ok so i have curly, dry hair that also gets frizzy. If i was to use a chemical straightener, (1)would it cause my hair to get even dryer?(2) Will it damage my hair?(3) Will it keep the frizz away?(4) And how long does a chemical straightner last? Pleas answer all of these questions. Please use numbers so i know which question you are answering

Chemical Hair Straighteners?

1.It can cause your hair to become dryer you need to use good moisturizers both before and after you use the relaxer.

2. It will most definitely damage your hair there is no way around that. The amount of damage is dependent upon how you take care of the hair before and after and if you decide to do it at home or go to a licensed professional. A chemical straightener is one of the most damaging chemicals you can use on your hair if not the most damaging. It permanently breaks the bonds in your hair that cause it to be curly and reforms them.

3. It might keep the frizz away but that is also dependent upon what products you use to style.

4. A chemical relaxer does not come out of the hair it is permanent if you like the result you will need to do a retouch on your new growth every few months depending on your rate of hair growth and personal preference. I retouch about every 2 to 3 months. The only way to get rid of a relaxer is to cut the hair off.

Chemical Hair Straighteners?

1. no it will not cause ur hair to get dryer. There should be a moisturizer to use when washing it out.

2. If u use it long enough IT WILL DAMAGE UR HAIR.

3. Most of the time it will keep the frizz away. Depends on ur nationality. seriously.

4. It can last up to month or longer. Again depending on ur race.

Hope that helped some:)

Chemical Hair Straighteners?

well all of these answers really depends on what race u are...

If your african american then..

(1) it would not make ur hair dryer, instead it would add some more moisture cuz ur hair already holds in moisture naturally, now the degree of moisture depends on the kind of perm u use and the kind of conditioner ( motions, precise, or optimum are really good perms)

(2) It will damage ur hair somewhat thats just what perms do, that is why it is important to deep condition ur hair after a perm because it restores ur hair's damages and gives it moisture.

(3) It will keep the frizz away and it will also make ur curly hair straight.

(4) It last approximately 3-4weeks.

If ur White then...

(1) Ur hair will get a little dryer but if u deep condition it will restore ur moisture.

(2) IT will damage ur hair somewhat, ur hair will never have quit the same texture it had before u permed it.

(3) IT will keep the frizz away but ur hair will still be curly, if not a little more curly than usual.

(4) approximately 3-4weeks

Chemical Hair Straighteners?

Japanese Hair straighteners work great and they are the least damaging on the hair (1).

(1/3)It will make your hair look silky, shiny and frizz free.

(1) No your hair wont get dryer. But they can be pretty expensive. You can buy a kit at your local beauty supply for about 25 dollars. It takes an afternoon to do. I'd suggest having a friend do that for you on a Saturday.

(4) It should last anywhere from 3 to 6 months, depending on how fast your hair grows.

Here are some before and after pics.

PS My friend was also half white and half puertorican.

Chemical Hair Straighteners?

1. Yes, it can cause your hair to dry out. Which is why you need to moisturize it afterwards and keep it moisturized.

2. YES!!!!! It will definitely damage your hair. It is permanently breaking the bonds that make your hair coil/curl. You can't undo a chemical hair straightener. Many people have hair breakage, hair loss, and other problems just from relaxing their hair.

3. Yes, because the curls will be gone.

4. About a 4-6 weeks.

I strongly suggest looking into other options before using a chemical relaxer. Please visit www.nappturality.com to learn more about caring for your hair in it's natural state.
