Is it easier to lighten your hair if its natural (never been dyed b/f)?

I have my natural color is black, but i've been using box color all my life. Going from ligh brown and black. But two months ago i tried to lighten my hair to a light blonde. The hairstylist took me off the dryer and said i wouldnt be able to get my hair that blonde and i ended up with a horrible red/orange color. So i'm trying to grow out my hair and I'm not putting any box color in any more. Will it be easier for the stylist to lighten to blonde once my hair is natural again?

I have jet black hair as well. I have blonde in my hair and its fine, go to a better hairdressers, one time i went to a hairdressers they did streaks of blonde in my hair and it frazzled, and i couldnt brush through it, it was so bad and felt like hay! But I went to another hairdressers, who dyed a different part of my hair, and it went fine. Instead of letting your natural hair colour to come back, go back to the hairdressers, if your hair has already been bleached, it will be alot easier and almost definately possible to lift the colour out of it. No, that wont make a difference. If your natural color is very dark, it will be extremely hard to get it light. You'll need to apply peroxide and eventually will wind up with fried hair. Just go for a darker blonde color, or even a lighter brown. Or maybe embrace the black. ;)

if your hair is dark its probably not going to be easy to dye it peroxide blonde it would start to gradullly lighten it with highlights.

i would suggest trying a new hair stylisy - your hair should be able to dye any colour, and it is their job to make your hair coloured so they should be good at it. if you can dye your hair light brown, blonde should be just as easy. try a different stylist - ask friends who have nicely dyed hair where they go to.

not exactly sure, but the reason you may of had problems was because dying your hair damaged it, and trying to dye it lighter, stressed it out even more. so mayhaps you not dying your hair is a good idea.
