Damaged Hair!!!?

I recently stopped getting relaxers to straighten my hair, and now for some reason my hair is really damaged. I use shampoo and conditioners that say "for damaged hair" but it doesn't seem to get any better. I wash my hair about twice a week and dont put alot of heat on it (blow dryer/ flat iron ect.). I just need a way to make my hair grow fast and get healthy again. Please help!!!

if u want it to go fast and health then theres some kind of vitamin that will help you out, and stop blow drying and flat ironing thats making it worst

shave your head !!!!

then it will be long, silky and smooth and shiny once it grows back =]

I think what you need to do is wash your hair every day or at least every other day! Of course it wont look or feel healthy because you don't wash it enough. And if that doesn't work, go to a salon and see if they can fix it. I think they would know what to do.And like the person said before to shave your head, DON'T! It would grow back fast and make it look silky, but it could grow back a different color and would look really bad unless you got a wig. Good Luck. I don't think it could look that bad. Also, don't straighten it anymore unless it is really curly or wavy. Putting heat on your hair makes it worse.

When my hair was over processed and damaged I used Aussie hair products. I used their ultra moist shampoo and conditioner, and I used the 3 minute miracle 2-3 times a week.

Then when it started to get healthier I used, and currently use AG products. You can get them at a salon. I love them. But the Aussie products really brought my hair back to life.

Good luck.

the reason your hair is really damaged is more likely because you stopped chemically straightenning it. Your hair grows more and becomes healthy when it is having the same things done to it over and over again. Also brittle ends cause breakage so place a lot of emphasis on that by moisterizing it. I don't know what moisterizers might work for you but i use Silk Elements Conditioner and hair lotions with vitamin extracts. Using something with olive or carrot oil also helps alot because both have vitamins essential for hair.

Washing your hair once or twice a week is alright, just don't do it daily, that tends to dry it out a lot. You mentioned the damaged hair conditioners, did you try the blackberry dry/damaged one by Herbal Essences? That worked wonders for me. If not, something that also might help are the numerous hair repair products avaliable , or even oil treatments. Part of the reason your hair is damaged might be caused by all the humidity in the air, it's making my hair go crazy too, lol.

try Aphogee treatment it is made just for hair that has been relaxed....you can find it at sally's or other hair stores

I wouldn't start washing your hair more frequently. Damaged hair cannot be repaired by shampooing it every day! You are doing the right thing by washing it less seldom and trying to let it recuperate. You said you use shampoos that say for damaged hair, but if you are using stuff from the grocery store or WalMart instead of stuff from a salon, they aren't going to help much!. Those products mainly just put a coating of wax on hair to give the APPEARANCE of healthier hair (by slicking down the split ends), but in actuality they do nothing to help repair it. Although nothing can totally repair hair, some product lines that could help it are Biolage and CHI. Both have to be purchased at a salon, and they cost more than the department store stuff, but they are worth it. Go to your nearest salon, talk to one of the stylists about the problems you are having, and they will steer you in the right direction. An at home remedy in the meantime would be a hot oil treatment. You can buy one (VO5 makes on that's okay), or you can use olive oil, heated up, massaged into hair, and left on for approximately 20 minutes with a warm, damp towel wrapped around your head/hair. Wash and condition well afterwards. Good luck!!

A few things to help:

First, make sure you are eating well. Also make sure you don't wash your hair every day. Just give it a good rinse in cool water and condition it. Also, go get your hair trimmed. It will look and feel thicker and you can also ask your stylist what products would be best to get your hair back in shape.
