I exploded a pen in my dryer and the ink is EVERYWHERE. I work at a hair salon and someone said try hairspray, the stuff from my salon worked good but the over the counter stuff sucks. I'm thinking it's because the main ingredient is alcohol. I can't get anymore good hairspray until tomorrow and I need to dry clothes tonight!! Will rubbing alcohol work???
How do I get ink out of my dryer?

Try a combination of rubbing alcohol and vinegar. 1/2 and 1/2 in a spray bottle. No it isnt dangerous. It really works. Actually try a three part mix with water.

How do I get ink out of my dryer?
Actually, this happened to me when my son came home on leave from the Army. I had just gotten a brand new dryer and it had never been used. He put in a load of laundry, and had forgotten to take out a black ink pen. Black ink got all over his clothes and the inside of my new dryer. I tried EVERYTHING, from alcohol, turpentine, hairspray, fingernail polish remover and even WD 40. Nothing worked. From what I learned, once the barrel is hot, and the heat dries the ink, it's pretty much set. (It's called "heat setting") Yep...I still have an inky design inside my dryer, but the dryer dries just fine, and ink has never come off on anything else. (Yes...my son felt really awful but I assured him that I knew it was an accident, and his how he felt was much more important than the inside of my dryer!) So, unless they've come out with something new since my son did this a few years ago, you may be out of luck!
